Helping these achievements happen is a hard-working team of female leaders

Each juggles the day-to-day tasks of having full-time jobs and families while helping grow a company.

Let’s meet three from the team.

Christianna Denelsbeck—CFO

Landscape Workshop strives for an inclusive environment where employees can express themselves openly. Their primary goal is to focus on each person’s performance, allowing them to work up the ranks.

After joining Landscape Workshop as an Analyst, Christianna Denelsbeck climbed the corporate ladder to CFO—a position she has held for the past three years.

As CFO, Christianna:

  • Takes care of month-end closings to ensure correct financials + reporting
  • Pushes strategic initiatives like vendor partnerships and improving systems + processes

Christianna told us she’s enjoyed helping the company’s growth over the past few years.

“It’s been a major challenge, but also incredibly rewarding to give opportunities for our team through that growth.”

Work/life balance

Along with being CFO of a fast-paced company, Christianna is also a mom of two kids ages three years and 10 months.

How does she balance a demanding career and family? With a lot of help, especially from her husband who also works full-time.

Christianna likes to use systems that work for organizing at work and home. Examples include sharing a calendar, detailed spreadsheets and lists to manage her family’s busy schedules and tasks.

“Sometimes ‘doing it all’ means logging back online once the kids are asleep or checking email while walking the dog.

Becoming a parent forced me to stop striving for perfection.”

Nancy Simmons—Account Manager

Nancy has been an Account Manager with Landscape Workshop for 11 years.

In this role, she:

  • Manages 3.5 crews—approximately 95 clients
  • Directs day-to-day activities of production teams to service client properties
  • Manages client expectations and presents opportunities to improve client properties through sales + enhancement management

“My customers are my favorite part of my job. I also enjoy working with my crews and co-workers. We have an awesome team.”

Work/life balance

Nancy’s children are now grown, but she gives an understanding and encouraging nod to her co-workers who have young children.

“I remember how hard it was to balance having two children and work. I never missed a ball game or an event my kids were involved in.”

Even though Nancy’s kids are adults, the balance between work and family continues.

“Now it’s the grandkids and the great-grandbabies. You find yourself working later some days to be off early on others so you can be everywhere you need to be.”

Brittany Hubbard—Operations Administrator

Brittany has been in her current role at Landscape Workshop for 10 months. But don’t let the short time frame fool you. For 9.5 years, she was the Branch Administrator for the company’s Central Alabama Branch.

In her current role as Operations Administrator, Brittany:

  • Works with the acquisition team coordinating + streamlining processes
  • Manages schedules, oversees communications + ensures all necessary documentation is aligned + entered correctly

Something Brittany enjoys about her job is how much collaboration and cross-departmental communication is required. In fact, it’s one of her favorite day-to-day responsibilities.

“I love seeing all the pieces come together during an acquisition. I enjoy the challenge of coordinating complex processes.

Knowing my efforts contribute to the team’s success is very rewarding.”

Work/life balance

Many of her responsibilities at work also help her at home, where she’s a busy mom of three children.

How does she balance a full-time job with the hands-on task of parenting?

“Seeing priorities. I have learned to be highly organized. I make the most of my time, whether it is at work or at home.

It’s a lot of juggling, but I would not trade the chaos for anything.”
