Miracle Pizza Co. is Avondale’s newest pizza joint

In February 2024, Post Office Pies closed the doors of its Avondale location after ten years. Luckily, the restaurant’s Mountain Brook location—which opened in 2020—is still around.

Located at 209 41st St S, the former Post Office Pies space was in a prime spot next to several of Avondale’s most popular establishments, including:

Avondale Brewing Company
Saturn
SAW’s Soul Kitchen
Dzire Bar and Lounge
Ampersandwich
Cinderella Story
41st Street Pub and Aircraft Sales
Black Market Grill (coming soon!)

In March, Bham Now reported that a new restaurant would be filling the pizza-joint-shaped-hole in Avondale. Dubbed Miracle Pizza Co., the restaurant is affiliated with the neighboring Avondale Brewing Co.

“When our good friends from Post Office Pies decided to consolidate over to Mountain Brook, we saw an opportunity to add to our block and integrate this space into Avondale’s concert series.

With the help of Ben McPherson, our chef who moved from Houston, we’ve been able to add to the concert experience by offering slices both pre- and post-show.”

What to expect at Miracle Pizza Co.

Led by Chef Ben McPherson, Miracle Pizza Co. offers a wide variety of Italian-inspired New York pizza options with both meat and vegetable toppings. Plus, the restaurant offers several appetizer, salad and sandwich options.

According to Michael Sellers, some of the most popular items on the menu are:

Spicy Soppressata: locally cured salami, tomato, fresh mozzarella, smokey hot honey, herbs
Magic City Mushroom: white pie with mushroom ricotta, local roasted mushrooms, evoo, grana padano, fresh basil
Italian Beef (sandwich): house roasted beef, giardiniera, sweet peppers, beef jus, hoagie roll

In addition to its regular hours (listed below), Miracle Pizza Co. is open for one hour post-show on nights that Avondale Brewing Co. hosts a concert.
