Earlier this week, the Alabaster City Council approved a development agreement for the first phase of the District 31 shopping center project.

Alabaster is getting a Chipotle and Five Guys

The first project is called The Shoppes at District 31. It is a new retail development that will include four buildings facing U.S. 31, near where the former Cannon Quik Stop gas station once resided. The developer expects to bring in 14 restaurants and retailers to the spot.

The following are the first tenants at The Shoppes:

  • CAVA
  • Chipotle
  • Five Guys Burgers and Fries
  • Nothing Bundt Cakes
  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe
  • Aspen Dental

Alabaster’s $242 million development

In late March, the city announced it had struck a $242 million deal to bring in approximately 600,000 square feet of new retail, restaurant and hotel space into the area.

According to a City of Alabaster news release, District 31 developer Alumni Properties also updated the Council on the status of the larger District 31 shopping center off Exit 238 on I-65.

They confirmed Hobby Lobby and Shoe Station have signed lease agreements at the larger location.
