Anyone else slowly but surely marking things off their summer bucket list?

1. Buy your summer read at a local bookstore

2. Watch a drive-in movie at Grand River

Nothing says summer like a drive-in movie. Grab your best friends and hit the Grand River Drive-In in Leeds this summer.

3. Paddle, kayak or swim around Birmingham

It’s heating up in Alabama, and now is the perfect time to get out on the water.

Grab your sunscreen and explore some kayaking and canoeing spots around the Birmingham area.

4. Attend Sidewalk Film Festival

I went to Sidewalk Film Festival for the first time last year and fell in love!

You can mingle with old and new friends, watch independent films and create a newfound love for Birmingham.

5. Support local vendors at farmer’s markets

A farmer’s market is a classic summertime essential.

Hit the town one morning and support Alabama farmers and vendors at one of the many local markets around Birmingham.

6. Race Go-Karts at the K1 Superspeedway

Who doesn’t love a little friendly competition?

Challenge your friends in a good, old-fashioned go-kart race at K1 Superspeedway—may the best person win!

7. Go on a picnic at a local park

One of my favorite ways to get out and about in Bham… a picnic!

Head to one of the many parks in the Magic City, picnic basket and best friends in tow.

8. Cheer on your favorite Bham sports teams

Legion FC, Barons baseball, Stallions football, you name it! Birmingham is home to so many stellar sports teams.

Cheer them on at a game (or two, or three) this summer.

The Birmingham Stallions play in the UFL Championship this Sunday, June 16.
