Former Carrigan’s Beer Garden space demolished; NEW Frida’s Garden Club coming soon
Reading time: 2 minutes
Last week, Bham Now learned that the former Carrigan’s Beer Garden / Brät Brot space at 2912 6th Ave S in Lakeview was being demolished to make way for something new: Frida’s Garden Club.
Read on to learn what we know.
Carrigan’s Beer Garden — the end of an era
Carrigan’s Beer Garden (formerly Brät Brot) has been in business since 2018. Owned and operated by David Carrigan—who also owns Carrigan’s Philanthropub in downtown Birmingham—Carrigan’s Beer Garden sought to bring a German take on pubs to the city. Customers particularly liked its selection of German beers and delicious variety of food.
In 2019, Carrigan’s closed for a brief time due to designing purposes. They opened back up shortly after with an updated menu, better hours for customers and outdoor games.
Back in September, Bham Now reported that the beer garden had been sold for $2,275,000.
What we know about Frida’s Garden Club, coming soon to Lakeview
Once the former Carrigan’s Beer Garden space is cleared, the property owners plan to construct a new establishment: Frida’s Garden Club
Although details on the new establishment are few and far between, renderings and plans were passed by the Design Review Committee during its last meeting, May 28. Check out the renderings below!
