Uncle G’s Pizza, the popular food truck with a huge following in The Magic City, is opening its first pizza joint in Hoover.

The new location is at the former Cici’s Pizza near Planet Fitness and Hobby Lobby in the Riverchase Plaza (1851 Montgomery Hwy. in Hoover). The grand opening is scheduled for March 27th, with the first 50 customers receiving a free pizza to cash in at a later date.

About Uncle G’s Pizza & their new location

Uncle G’s Pizza opened for business back in 2021 as a small food truck in Pelham. In 2022, to keep up with demand, they added a 2nd truck.

“After opening the second food truck, it made a lot of sense for us to try to find our own place to use as a commissary and prep kitchen for the food trucks to work out of. It makes sense from a practical and growth standpoint. I feel that we will reach more people with a brick-and-mortar store.”

Uncle G’s Pizza — original combinations

What should we expect at the new Uncle G’s Pizza location? The same deep and thin crust pies with fresh ingredients and original topping combinations.

“Pepperoni is always going to be the number one order by miles. But people really like our “cool it down” pizza which has hot honey, basil and ricotta. They like to add pepperoni or bacon to that one. Customers are very particular and everybody has their own order. It’s like Starbucks. No two drinks are the same. We expect to see a lot of creative build-your-own-pies come through.”

In addition to the pizzas, the Hoover location will be a family-friendly establishment with games for children to play on-site.

Dates and Hours

What days and hours will Uncle G’s be open during the week? All 7 days!

Monday- Thursday — 11:00AM to 9:00PM

Friday- Saturday — 11:00AM to 10:00PM

Sunday — 11:00AM to 8:00PM

Bonus —Prep space for other food trucks

Along with the restaurant, Uncle G’s Pizza hopes the new space can also help fellow food trucks in the area.

“One advantage to this location—we are able to provide a limited amount of space to other food truck owners and operators as a commissary space, so that they can legally operate their food truck. It’s a service that’s really needed in and around the Birmingham area.”

The Grand Opening — March 27th

Presently, Uncle G’s Pizza is installing the elements to the restaurant and kitchen in Hoover. In the meantime, follow them on social media to know the whereabouts of their food trucks.

And don’t forget — the Grand Opening for their first location is March 27th at the Riverchase Plaza.
