1. Monique Kenebrew, Claims Manager
Monique has been at Protective for two years, where she currently manages a team of 13 people that supports life insurance claims for Protective.

- Typical workday: Gather with managers to review and prioritize work for the day; communicate priorities with the team and manage throughout the day; document daily wins and challenges.
Monique is clear about what she loves most:

While every department within this organization plays a part in keeping that promise, in claims, we are the ones who show up—we are there at the worst possible time in someone’s life, when everything falls apart. I love that we are the ones who fulfill the promise.”

2. Jessica Poor, Senior Production Analyst
In 2.5 years at Protective, Jessica Poor, whose title is Senior Production Analyst, has been working with the seniors housing group.
Here’s how Jessica explained her role:
“At Protective, the mortgage investment group invests in real estate properties through lending—much like a bank would. The seniors housing group focuses on financing independent living, assisted living and memory care facilities across the country.
My role is to work with our borrowers and servicing team to finance these properties and ensure our portfolio is performing properly.”

- Typical workday: Every day is different, ranging from determining if properties are a good fit to reviewing financials.
- Love about job: Working closely with—and gaining industry knowledge from—a small team every day; building relationships inside and outside of the company.
3. Ben Coffman, VP of Financial Reporting
Ben Coffman has been at Protective for 10 years, and has recently been promoted to VP of Financial Reporting. In this role, he manages teams that are responsible for analyzing and reporting the earnings results for life insurance and annuity products.

- Typical day: His team focuses on earnings results, period-end close processes, strategic projects and process improvements.
- Love about job: The people + being involved in a critical part of the company that helps shape leaders’ decisions.

4. Alana Dominick, VP of Application Systems
Alana Dominick has been at Protective for 20 years, where she currently serves as VP of Application Systems for the Protection Division. In this role, she develops talent for the company’s IT Delivery organization.
