Meet the 7 new restaurants coming to The Edge development

In a recent social media post, an upcoming development called The Edge in Homewood announced they are fully-leased and preparing to open later this year. To gear up for The Edge’s grand opening, let’s take a tour of the development’s seven tenants and what you can expect.

1. Corbeau Wine Bar

Corbeau Wine Bar is co-owned and operated by sisters Mary and Elizabeth Martin. The first and only bar in Alabama with self-serve wine on tap, it has become a local hot spot for dates, meetings and events in the Trussville Entertainment District.

With the help of Chef Dean Maio, Corbeau serves a variety of foods to pair with your wine such as charcuterie boards and delicious flatbreads and paninis. Corbeau also hosts regular four-course tasting menus where guests can experience carefully-crafted meals paired with various house wines.

2. The Standard

With two locations in the Birmingham area, The Standard was voted one of the best burgers in town. Serving classics like cheeseburgers, Philly cheesesteaks and hot dogs with your choice of tasty toppings, The Standard’s menu is simple but delicious.

3. Baba Java Coffee

Baba Java Coffee, with two locations in the Birmingham area, is joining The Edge. Using high-quality, ethically-sourced coffee beans, Baba Java serves espresso drinks, coffee, tea and more.

4. Popbar

Occupying a shared space with Baba Java Coffee, Popbar serves tasty frozen gelato on a stick. Cool off with one of Popbar’s 50+ gelato flavors, including vegan and gluten free options, and your choice of toppings.

5. Shin Ramen Noodles & Asian Cuisine

A new restaurant from Young Shin, owner of The Standard and Pho Pho, is introducing his newest venture—Shin Ramen. The restaurant will serve authentic ramen bowls, rice bowls and custom Asian cuisine.

6. The Que*bicle

Chef Nick Carpenter, who owns three award-winning restaurants in the Warrior area, is known for pushing the envelope with creative flavor combinations and fresh ingredients. His newest restaurant, The Que*bicle, will serve barbecue with a twist. The menu contains creations like red chili Frito pie, Korean-inspired pork belly tacos and a barbecue crunch wrap.

7. Cookie Plug

Cookie Plug will be opening its first Alabama location at The Edge. Known for its innovative batter recipe that makes for a chewy, soft cookie-cake hybrid, the menu includes sugar cookies, smores cookies and even a selection of keto cookies.
