Exploring the Historic Alabama Theatre with Tom Cronier [VIDEO]

If you have ever visited the Alabama Theatre, chances are you have seen, or even met, Tom Cronier. He has volunteered at the Alabama Theatre for the past 38 years. Tom took the time to show us around this historical landmark and shared with us why it is so special to not only him, but to so many people in Birmingham.

Tom shares with us some of the history behind this 97 year old gem (opened back in 1927). Learn about the gorgeous and historic interior of the building and hear about how Alabama Theatre was saved from being demolished back in 1987.

Tom’s main job is helping with the upkeep of ‘Big Bertha’ the legendary pipe organ. You can read more about ‘Big Bertha’ and how she saved the Alabama Theatre, right here.
