Aww Shucks has become the nation’s first corn franchise

Wouldn’t it be a dream to travel to stadiums and airports around the U.S. and still be able to eat your favorite food from home?

Local favorite Aww Shucks has been approved for national franchise status, reports the Birmingham Business Journal, meaning that you might be seeing new locations pop up all across the country.

Aww Shucks’ rapid rise to success

Owners Phillip and Avrie Powell founded the Aww Shucks food truck in 2020. A vegetarian and vegan themselves, the couple’s mission was to provide a delicious and affordable plant-based option in the Birmingham area.

Their tasty fire-roasted corn recipes, which come in 15 unique flavors, became a massive success—enabling them to open their first brick-and-mortar location in 2022.

Aww Shucks operates on a hybrid business model, with both a food truck and brick-and-mortar location. Potential franchisees will have the option to choose between a food truck, storefront or hybrid model as well.

From local food truck to national franchise

Since entering the franchise market, they have already received around 50 applications for franchises in places like Atlanta, Destin, Houston, Tampa and Savannah. Their target market includes airports, arenas, stadiums and resort destinations.
