The Foundry Ministries serves as a haven for men and women struggling with addiction to find freedom and discover purpose. We sat down with a current participant of The Foundry’s men’s program to see this work in action—here’s what we learned.

Joe Strickland first came to The Foundry in September 2023. When we asked what brought him here, he expressed how it was a series of bad decisions followed by the grace of God.

“I was pretty addicted to fentanyl and methamphetamine and I was just broken. It was really a God thing—bringing me to The Foundry—they accepted me with open arms.”

Did you know 20 million Americans struggle with addiction? Through intentional programming, one-on-one counseling and the transformational power of Jesus Christ, The Foundry allows participants to discover their purpose as soon as they step through the doors.

“One of the best parts about The Foundry is the counseling. They focus on the things you don’t want to talk about, the things that have troubled you in the past or the things you have built up inside. It has helped me a lot in my daily walk with God.”

How The Foundry encourages positive changes

The vision behind The Foundry’s process is simple: creating permanently transformed lives through Christ-centered ministries.

They do this through the following five program components designed to guide participants from their first visit to graduation and beyond:

  1. Counseling
  2. Case management
  3. Education
  4. Employment readiness
  5. Aftercare

Although the program ends after nine months, The Foundry commits to a life-long investment with each graduate. Their aftercare program establishes a support system available at any time.

Some of the aftercare services provided include:

  • Church involvement opportunities
  • Education services
  • Individual counseling
  • Job training
  • Transitional housing
