Kick off the weekend early, Thursday, December 7
- City Walk Festival of the Trees: Once the grand tree is lit, participants will continue down to City Walk Social where 20 smaller trees are located to enjoy music and beverages + ring in the holiday season. 5-7PM. Details.
- MAKEBHM Open House + Makers Market: Grab some food from local vendors + shop the work of more than 40 MAKEBHM members. 6-9PM. Details.

- The Man Who Came to Dinner: Catch The Man Who Came to Dinner and enjoy a Christmastime, mid-century comedy classic at the Virginia Samford Theatre. December 8-December 16, 2023. Details.
- Magic of Model Trains: Grab your conductor’s hat and head to McWane Science Center for the 18th annual Magic of Model Trains exhibit. This holiday tradition takes viewers of all ages on enchanting journeys. Free-$21. 9AM-5PM. Details.
- Better Together Multicultural Holiday Festival: Get ready for a day of karaoke, food trucks, giveaways + more! This inclusive event is Mayor Woodfin’s initiative to offer a platform for small business owners to showcase + sell their products. FREE. 11AM-2PM. Details.
- So So Spiffy Shopping Shindig: This monthly event is back, just in time to knock out your holiday shopping. Noon-6PM Details.
- Sip and Sing: Hosted by Urban Vintage, this first annual Treats for Treatment karaoke night features DJ Shay, local vendors + more. 8PM-Midnight. Details.

- The Grinch’s Jingle Bell Party: Hop over to McWane Science Center for a full day of hands-on, family-friendly holiday activities, including crafts, dancing, The Grinch in IMAX + photo opportunities with the green guy himself. Free-$35. 10AM-5PM. Details.
- Bestavia Bazaar: Mark Your Calendars for the First Annual Bestavia Bazaar! This special community event features 70 hand-picked local vendors, food trucks and family-friendly activities like a wreath-making workshop + more. FREE. 1-6PM. Details.
