Sun Belt Conference champion and Alabama’s own Troy University will take on the Duke Blue Devils from the Atlantic Coast Conference in the 17th Annual 76® Birmingham Bowl.

Birmingham Bowl: Troy vs. Duke

Troy (11-2) clinched its second Sun Belt title in a row on Saturday with a 49-23 win over Appalachian State to earn its invitation to The Magic City.

Duke (7-5), which is known for basketball, was one of the darlings of college football early this season when it upset Clemson 28-7 on national television.

The Saturday, December 23rd matchup will kick off at 11AM at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium and will air on ABC

“We have a great matchup this year with Troy and Duke playing at Protective Stadium. We look forward to having the teams and their fans spend the holidays in Birmingham to enjoy the unique southern hospitality and food that our city offers. We hope local football fans join the free pre-game bowl festivities at Uptown on December 22 and 23. We encourage everyone to purchase their tickets now while they are available.”
