1. The Addams Family

  • What: The Addams Family: Young@Part has arrived just in time for Halloween. From local makeup tutorials to nutty costumes, experience a fun-filled evening with this spooky family.
  • When: Thursday, October 26, 7PM | Friday, October 27, 11AM | Saturday, October 28, 2:30PM + 7PM | Sunday, October 29, 2:30PM
  • Where: Virginia Samford Theatre – Mainstage
  • Cost: $28 | Students – $23 (Friday, October 27 show is $10)

2. Avondale Elementary Fall Fest

  • What: This community event features carnival games, a petting zoo, bounce house, pony rides, an art show, spooky stories from the Avondale Librarians, a silent auction, crafts, Taco Morro Loco, face painting and more!
  • When: Thursday, October 26 | 5-8PM
  • Where: Avondale Elementary School
  • Cost: Free admission

3. Trolly of Terror Tours

  • What: The Trolley of Terror invites passengers of all ages to embark on a one-of-a-kind journey through some of Birmingham’s most haunted places. Whether you’re a history buff, a thrill-seeker, or simply curious about the unknown, these guided tours promise a memorable experience filled with spooky stories.
  • When: Thursday, October 26-Friday, October 27 | 6PM + 7:15PM
  • Where: Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau main offices
  • Cost: $15 adults (10+) | $10 children (3-9)

4. 3rd Annual Tricks for Treats benefiting the Greater Birmingham Humane Society

  • What: As you make your way through the shelter, be prepared for a trick-or-treating adventure where little ghouls and goblins can collect sweets at various stops. Don’t forget to bring your own candy buckets!
  • When: Friday, October 27 | 6-8PM
  • Where: The Greater Birmingham Humane Society
  • Cost: Free entry when you bring a donation to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society’s Pet Pantry for entry. Items in demand include dry adult pet food, litter, toys, collars, leashes, new litter scoops and pans among other essentials.

5. Moonlight Movies

  • What: Watch the Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus. There will be complimentary popcorn and a giveaway at the Lane Parke tent.
  • When: Friday, October 27 | 6-9PM
  • Where: Lane Parke
  • Cost: Free admission

6. Vulcan’s Spookypants

  • What: Wear your costume and join in on a night of improv filled with Halloween jokes and fun. 
  • When: Friday, October 27 | 8PM
  • Where: Red Mountain Theatre
  • Cost: $12

7. Magic City Classic

  • What: Experience the 82nd Magic City Classic where Alabama A&M and Alabama State will face-off in an epic football battle.
  • When: Saturday, October 28th at 8AM-11AM
  • Where: Legion Field
  • Cost: Tickets start at $25 and are available here.

8. Social Taco Día de los Muertos

  • What: Enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating, food and drink specials, live music, games and more while celebrating Día de los Muertos.
  • When: Saturday, October 28 | 4-10PM
  • Where: Social Taco
  • Cost: Free admission

9. The Birmingham Flea Market

  • What: Attend The Birmingham Flea and expect 40+ vendors from all over the southeast featuring vintage home goods, art, antiques,  clothes, knick-knacks, jewelry, hats, up-cycled goods and accessories.
  • When: Sunday, October 29 | 12:30-6PM
  • Where: Cahaba Brewing
  • Cost: Free admission
