New frozen treats store opens alongside Baba Java in Hoover

Popbar has teamed up with Baba Java Coffee in Hoover to open a new store together. Keep reading to find out more.

Alabama’s first Popbar

Popbar was founded in New York City in 2010. Since then, the company has become known for their customizable frozen yogurt, gelato and sorbetto served on a stick. Now, frozen treats and more are available at 1801 Doug Baker Boulevard in Hoover.

The new Popbar location is the first in Alabama, joining alongside 15 other domestic and international locations. Treats at Popbar are created in-house by Popbar staff–they have over 80 flavors! Plus, they offer seasonal flavors like pumpkin pie and watermelon. Some “pop”-ular items include:

• popYogurt
• Waffles
• Shakes
• Lemonades
• And more!

If you have a dietary restriction, Popbar also has you covered with vegan, soy-free and dairy-free options as well. Additionally, Popbar prides itself on selling all-natural treats. Make sure to visit the Popbar grand opening celebration on November 11th at noon!

Popbar and Baba Java Coffee: a dynamic duo

Baba Java opened its first permanent location in Hoover in 2019 after about a year of online sales and temporary pop-ups. Since the Hoover opening, Baba Java has opened two new stores–one in Montevallo and another in Hoover.

Popbar and Baba Java share share the same core values, which is why the two are teaming up in the same store, according to Popbar founder Reuben BenJehuda.

And it’s not easy to open a Popbar location, either–geographic location, standards, corporate training and more are required to franchise. Luckily for Birmingham residents, Baba Java fits the part.
