Do you dream of having the perfect cup of coffee anywhere, anytime? It may soon be possible thanks to a new and unique product in the works by a 25-year-old, Birmingham-based engineer.

About Heiss Mug

First things first…what is Heiss Mug? A local Birmingham startup, Heiss Mug is a battery-powered, coffee pod brewing thermos that heats and filters coffee internally so you can brew wherever, whenever—in just five minutes.

Meet the Birmingham engineer behind Heiss Mug

As you know, Bham Now loves local startups, so it’s exciting to note that Heiss Mug is the creation of Shannon Rearden, a 25-year-old Birmingham-based female engineer. It is also supported by innovative local businesses Builders + Backers and Heartland Forever.

According to a press release, it was Shannon’s passion for coffee and her engineering expertise that led to the creation of Heiss Mug.

Her vision for the product? “…to elevate coffee consumption experiences and make it accessible wherever life takes you.”

Where can you get a Heiss Mug?

Currently, the official release of the Heiss Mug is still in the works. But, with a recent Kickstarter campaign launch, the coffee mug of your dreams could be released for full production next year.

You can learn more about Heiss Mug via its Kickstarter Campaign and even back the project by making a pledge.
