Frothy Monkey arrives in Birmingham

In 2020, Urban Standard, a beloved Birmingham coffeehouse closed its doors after 13 years of business. Owner, Tomasz (Tom) Wrzesien, wanted the space to provide the same spirit of connection and community that people were used to.

Several years before, a mutual friend helped connect Tom and Ryan Pruitt, owner of Frothy Monkey. It didn’t take long for them to discover that the two businesses had very similar values.

A couple of years later, Urban Standard closed right around the time the Frothy Monkey team was ready to expand into The Magic City.
