Mayor Stewart is holding a contest for Irondale citizens to play a role in naming the new Dog Park.

Voting on the name will take place in the City of Irondale smartphone app from September 28, 2023, through October 20, 2023. Citizens may select from these name choices or write-in their own creative option:

  • Dogdale Bark Park
  • Paws Park
  • Tails by the Rails
  • Doggiedale Trail Park
  • Iron Tail Dog Park
  • Irondale Bark Park
  • Doggiedale Bark Park
  • Ruff Ruff Dog Park

Citizens may also submit a photo of their pup for a chance to become a park ambassador. The City of Irondale smartphone app is free to download in the app store.

More parks and greenspaces coming to Irondale

According to Mayor Stewart, the new Dog Park is part of a comprehensive master plan the city intends to implement.

“We have developed a Master Plan for our parks and greenspaces, so this is only the beginning. We will be constructing new fields for youth sports, expanding our footprint of trails, and adding additional amenities for families and children to enjoy at our parks in the very near future as well.”
