Reading time: 2 minutes
This fall, the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) is hosting a regional summit for business leaders, community partners and government officials to work together on ideas that could shape the future of economic development in the Birmingham area. The event will take place Thursday, November 16 at downtown Birmingham’s newly revitalized Greyhound station.
The BBA’s inaugural event for economic development
As the economic development agency and chamber of commerce for the city of Birmingham, the BBA’s mission is to help businesses start, stay and succeed. The first of its kind, the day will be full of discussions, strategies and community building among Birmingham’s business owners and chamber executives.
Attendees of the Regional Economic Development Summit will engage in sessions covering topics like:
- site selection
- land planning
- retail + industrial development
- marketing strategies
According to BBA President and CEO Steve Ammons, the event is aimed toward promoting a sense of collective effort and communication between businesses, developers and officials.
“Economic development isn’t just about numbers, it’s about people working together. Collective effort can change communities. Our hope is that this event unites our partners and serves as the catalyst to further collaboration and cooperation across the Greater Birmingham Region.”
