1. Cowlicks | Homewood

Cowlicks, located in Homewood, is a new studio for kids’ hair. The salon offers haircuts along with a variety of retail & accessories. All ages are welcome. Parents can book a wash, style or cut in addition to the kiddos. They even have adorable chairs for kids to get their hair cut in.

2. Renew Dermatology | Greystone

Renew Dermatology has opened a second location in Greystone and is ready for business. The second office is located at 2827 Greystone Commercial Boulevard in Hoover, right next door to Jim N’ Nicks BBQ. Renew Dermatology offers cosmetic and medical services.

3. Warby Parker | The Summit

The Summit has been buzzing all year with new openings and stores coming soon. Warby Parker, an eyewear store, is now open. Shop all types of eyewear products, such as: eyeglasses, sunglasses, contacts, accessories and more.

4. Glass & Grain | Morris Ave

Glass & Grain is a custom woodworking and glassblowing shop located on Morris Ave. The grain side of the shop offers custom pieces of fine woodworking. They do everything—from custom cabinetry and fine furniture to built-ins, architectural millwork and handmade one-of-a-kind wood pieces. The glass side of the shop offers custom glassblowing—creating custom vases, unique drinkware, bowls and light fixtures.

5. Cottage House | Pelham

Cottage House is opening in the former Shugahs space in Pelham. The cafe will serve as a coffee house, wine tasting venue and be available for small events. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon.

6. rEVOLVEr Resale and Yolaine’s Enhancing Skincare Products | Five Points South

A new shop-sharing project—the concept of two businesses within one storefront is open in Five Points South with the rEVOLVEr Resale and Yolaine’s Enhancing Skincare Products. rEVOLVEr resale offers a space for all, especially LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities to shop a little bit of everything secondhand. Yolaine’s Enhancing Skincare Products feature organic hair and skincare products, such as body oils, soaps, facial toners and more.

7.  Knit Bham | Forest Park

Knit Bham is getting ready to open its doors on September 15. The knit shop will be a place where the knitting community of Birmingham can come to get what they need, including: yarns, needles + notions, buttons + tape measures, stitch gauges + all the things a knitter could want. Knit Bham will be located where Naked Art made its home for 20 years.

8. Jeremiah’s Italian Ice | Vestavia Hills

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is open in Vestavia. The Orlando-based establishment has over 90 locations across the country, and serves over 40 flavors of fresh Italian ice as well as their signature gelati and soft serve. Jeremiah’s Italian Ice opened another location this summer in Chelsea.
