1. Birmingham Zoo Snooze

  • What: Ever wondered what it would be like to stay at the zoo after closing time? There will be a tour, educational activity, games and fun.
  • When: Friday, August 18-Saturday, August 19
  • Where: The Birmingham Zoo
  • Cost: Zoo Members $65 | Non-Members $85

2. Fall Plant Sale

  • What: Filled with a variety of unique gardens overflowing with stunning plants and flowers, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens is easily one of the most enchanting local spots. By shopping the Fall Plant Sale, you’ll help keep this beloved place blooming year-round.
  • When:
    • Member Early-Bird Shopping: Thursday, September 7, 1-5:30PM
    • Public Sale: Friday, September 8, 8AM-5:30PM | Saturday, September 9, 8AM-2PM
  • Where: Birmingham Botanical Gardens

3. Cahaba Chess Night

  • What: Join in on a night of beer and chess. Chess sets will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own. New to the game? David Harris will be onsite to show you all the ins and outs.
  • When: Thursday, September 7 | 5-8PM
  • Where: Cahaba Brewing
  • Cost: Free admission

4. Railroad Park’s Magic City Pop-Up Market

  • What: Stop by this fun market filled with local food, vendors, jewelry, artists and more. Plus, there will be a Line Dancing class at 6PM!
  • When: Friday, September 8 | 3-7PM

  • Cost: Free admission

5. Kickoff Tailgate Fundraiser

  • What: Join this Fall Kickoff Tailgate fundraiser in support of Magic City Harvest! Their goal is to end waste and end hunger throughout the Magic City. There will be a cash bar, music, games, a silent online auction and more.
  • When: Friday, September 8 | 4-8PM

  • Cost: Meal for 4 – $80

6. Birmingham Artwalk

  • What: Artwalk is a two-day arts festival that transforms Birmingham’s downtown neighborhood into an arts district, featuring the work of more than 90+ visual artists, live musicians, street performers, food and drink vendors and children’s activities.
  • When: Friday, September 8, 5-10PM | Saturday, September 9, 10AM-6PM
  • Where: 1st Ave North – 4th Ave North along 20th Street
  • Cost: Free admission

7. Opera Shots + Ice Cream

  • What: Kick off this season’s pop-up concerts with beautiful music and tasty frozen treats.
  • When: Friday, September 8 | 6PM
  • Where: The Hill Opera Center Parking Lot
  • Cost: Free admission

8. Annual Disc Golf Goes Pink

  • What: Disc Golf is going pink! All proceeds from this officially sanctioned event support lifesaving breast cancer research across Alabama. Registration includes morning and afternoon rounds on two courses.
  • When: Saturday, September 9 | 9AM
  • Where: Oliver Park and George W. Roy Recreational Park
  • Cost: Free admission | $45+ to play

9. Legion FC Salute to Service

  • What: Join Legion FC to honor past and present military members for their service as the team takes on New Mexico United in a run toward the USL Championship Playoffs. Anyone who gets season tickets for 2024 will be able to take part in a tour of the team’s locker room before the game.
  • When: Sunday, September 10 | 4-7PM
  • Where: Protective Stadium
