NEW: Saisaki Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar in Chelsea is now open

There’s a new hibachi restaurant in town– Saisaki Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar celebrated their grand opening last Tuesday. The restaurant is located off of Highway 280 in Chelsea in a shopping center across from Walmart.

What to expect

So, what’s for dinner at Saisaki? According to Ann Gancayco, who owns Saisaki with her husband Tem, their new restaurant offers all kinds of experiences whether you’re coming for a show at the hibachi table or just stopping by for a bite.

“When you come in, you can choose between regular dine-in or hibachi tables. We offer just about anything that you can think of in a Japanese restaurant– sushi, fried rice, sashimi, we’ve got it all.”

Same owners, new restaurant

While the Saisaki restaurant is brand new, the owners and location have been around for more than 15 years. Saisaki is the most recent venture of the Gancaycos– the two also own and operate Las Mesas Mexican Cantina which opened in Chelsea in 2022.

“We’ve been in Chelsea for 15+ years. We were the original owners of Habanero’s Mexican Grill that was here before. Then, we built Las Mesas in front of the Publix shopping center, and our plan was to turn this location into a Japanese restaurant. We’ve been here in this shopping center since it was built.”
