Baking from Birmingham to Baltimore

Before moving to Baltimore, Amber worked multiple roles in The Magic City, including leading the pastry department at Bellini’s Ristorante and Bar and serving as the pastry chef at Inverness Country Club.

She gave us a look into how she got started baking.

“I always loved baking, but I never thought it would be my career. I actually went to college in New Orleans and studied engineering. Because of Hurricane Katrina, I came back to Birmingham and started working here and realized I wasn’t happy with what I was doing.

I had never considered baking as a career, but when one of my friends said to me, ‘It’s what you love. Just go do it and see what happens’, I took her advice, went to culinary school and have been soaring ever since.”

Amber was so excited to tell her story, and can’t wait for viewers to keep watching the show. We will be cheering her on!

“I never imagined that I would get to do this everyday. We all used to imagine ourselves on the fun cooking shows on TV, but I never thought it would really happen. I am so grateful for this opportunity.”
