Rockin’ For Restoration (Will Bright Foundation)

1. Sloss Tech

  • What: Sloss Tech brings together the best and the brightest of today’s tech entrepreneurs, both nationally and locally. The event is a hub for Birmingham’s tech community, where founders, startups, companies and tech enthusiasts can share ideas, build relationships with one another and push the boundaries of innovation.
  • When: Friday, August 4 | 8AM-5PM

2. Black Belt Birding Festival 2023

  • What: The third annual Black Belt Birding Festival will highlight the birds, history and heritage of Alabama’s Black Belt region. The festival offers rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of many species of birds in a natural environment.
  • When: Friday, August 4-Saturday, August 5
  • Where: Locations vary. Check website for details.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Registration is closed, but keep on the lookout for openings.

3. Rockin’ For Restoration benefiting the Will Bright Foundation

  • What: Enjoy live music from Telluride, Deputy 5 and more. All funds will support The Will Bright Foundation and its mission of providing men battling addiction with a safe and supportive environment for recovery.
  • When: Friday, August 4 | 6-10PM
  • Where: Trussville Entertainment District
  • Cost: Free admission | $10 donation recommended

4. Art on the Rocks ft. Durand Bernard

  • What: Experience a mix of showcased art and performances throughout the BMA’s galleries, sculpture garden and outdoor terraces. You’ll also be able to paint a mural with artist Amy Pleasant.
  • When: Friday, August 4 | 7-11 PM
  • Where: Birmingham Museum of Art
  • Cost: $45 per person

5. BOLLYWOOD DJ DHOL Party

  • What: Experience authentic Indian snacks and an electrifying Bollywood DJ night with live Dhol for the first time in Birmingham. Dance to Bollywood beats all night long with Dholi Sherni and Desi Sound Guys.

6. Magic City Carnival benefiting Pathways

  • What: Get ready for funnel cakes, balloon animals, games and more at the first-ever Magic City Carnival. This event benefits Pathways, a shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness in Birmingham.
  • When: Saturday, August 5 | 5-8PM
  • Where: Cahaba Brewing
  • Cost:
    • Admission is free
    • Carnival game tickets: $1 each or $15 for 20
    • Unlimited play wristband $25

7. The J’la Gala

  • What: The Levite Jewish Community Center is hosting its 2nd annual J’la Gala and it’s going to be an event to remember. Following an “Only at The J” theme, you’ll enjoy a live and silent auction, cocktail hour, plated three-course kosher dinner prepared by Chef Maureen Holt and more.
  • When: Sunday, August 6 | 5PM
