1. Magic City Art Connection

  • What: Magic City Art Connection (MCAC) returns for its FAB 40th anniversary and it’s going to be an event you’ll never forget. From incredible artists featuring works of all mediums to amazing food and drinks including the 26th Corks & Chefs event, you won’t want to miss it.
  • When: Friday, April 28, Noon-6PM | Saturday, April 29, 10AM-6PM | Sunday, April 30, 10AM-5PM

2. Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix

  • What: There’s no better way to spend the weekend than with friends and family at Barber Motorsports Park for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix. The event will feature bonus highlights like a Fan Zone with Ferris Wheel, Wine & Beer Festival, INDY 5K and more.
  • When: Friday, April 28-Sunday, April 30 | Time varies day + activity

3. Bob Sykes BBQ & Blues Festival

  • What: Visit the 12th Annual Bob Sykes BBQ & Blues festival featuring award-winning national and local blues musicians playing, events for all ages, local artists and vendors and of course, tons of barbecue.

4. Long Live: A Taylor Swift Inspired Dance Party

  • What: Party all night to a Taylor Swift inspired dance party that celebrates her eras tour. There will be lip syncing, costume contests, photo walls and more.

6. Birmingham Walking Tour: Breathing Life into Landmarks

  • What: On this tour, you will discuss the redevelopment of some of Birmingham’s most cherished landmarks including revisiting some of the “12 Most Wanted” properties identified by Operation New Birmingham nearly 20 years ago. Explore how tax credits played a crucial role in revitalizing these buildings, and see first-hand the positive impact they have had on the community.

7. Jewish Food and Culture Festival

  • What: Celebrate the 75th Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) with tons of food and lots of fun. While the event is free, you will need to pay for the various delicious foods they’re offering.

  • Where: Levite Jewish Community Center

8. Firehouse Block Party

  • What: Firehouse students will ROCK the block, performing everything from the Trammps to the Cramps and even some original songs. There will also be lots of local food trucks, too. This event is family-friendly and all proceeds will support the Firehouse Community Arts Center.
