Stevie Nicks announces Birmingham concert April 5 has been cancelled
It’s a sad day for Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac fans in Birmingham. Today, it was announced by the BJCC that the upcoming concert at the Legacy Arena scheduled for tomorrow, April 5, has been cancelled.
Three tour dates cancelled
Earlier this year, we reported that the Grammy award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer would be visiting Birmingham on her solo tour.
Unfortunately, she has cancelled three of her upcoming tour dates due to illnesses within the band. The shows that were cancelled include dates in Oklahoma City, New Orleans and Birmingham.
Last fall, the rock legend performed at the new Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville. At the show, she gave props to Alabama for contributing significant radio airplay that gave her band at the time, Buckingham Nicks, the boost it needed to become more popular and attract the attention of drummer Mick Fleetwood. After hearing a recording of the duo performing the song “Frozen Love” in Tuscaloosa, Fleetwood invited Nicks and Buckingham to join his band.
Refunds
For any current ticketholders, the BJCC says refunds will be available at point of purchase.
Currently, there is no news regarding whether the concert will be rescheduled. Hopefully, Stevie Nicks will return to Birmingham very soon.
