3 local Community Supported Agriculture shares available for home delivery
Reading time: 3 minutes
If you love supporting local farmers and eating fresh greens and fruit, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares may just be what you’ve been missing. Keep reading to find out which local farms are doing home deliveries this spring.
What are CSA shares/farm box deliveries?
CSA is a subscription-like delivery system where you pay money upfront and get a weekly installment of produce, meat, eggs or flowers, depending on the type of share you purchase.
“CSAs are a great way to get outside your standard fare and to build a deeper relationship with a particular farm. It can be sort of like joining a fan club—you spend an entire growing season (or multiple seasons) with them, and often you’ll get photos, recipes and regular updates about what’s happening on the farm.”
Alice Evans, Executive Director, Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network (ASAN)
