Yesterday, a new Baja California Cantina & Grill location celebrated its grand opening on Crestwood Blvd. The restaurant will offer a variety of authentic Mexican dishes as well as daily food and drink specials.

About Baja California Cantina & Grill

If the name sounds familiar, you may have been to one of their other locations in Hoover, Gardendale, Jacksonville and Rainbow City. This new spot has been a year in the making, with their Facebook page teasing a new Crestwood Blvd location since last January.

“We are very excited that we opened today, we’ve been working on it for about a year. We’re going for a more elegant kind of look, but it’s still authentic Mexican food. We’re very excited to welcome everybody from Birmingham to come out and try our food, so I’m just very excited about everything.”

What’s on the menu?

Now for the important part– the food. Baja California Cantina has a full menu featuring a variety of dishes including dips, quesadillas, enchiladas, fajitas, desserts and more. With such an extensive menu, we had to ask– what’s the best thing to order?

According to Manager Michael Peralta, the fajitas are a must-try item.

“What I like– one of my favorites that I would recommend– is probably the fajitas just because it has a little bit of everything. You can try the rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and the meat with the seasonings we use. We also have good steaks, which are very popular at our other restaurants.”
