‘Tis the season to bring your whole family to a candlelight service. Read on to learn how you can have a Christmas Eve filled with peace and hope at a church in The Magic City.

1. Asbury United Methodist Church

With traditional candlelight services and a modern one at 6PM, there’s something to fit everyone’s schedule at Asbury United Methodist Church on Christmas Eve. Looking to enjoy the service from your home? You can watch the livestream online during the services at 4PM and 8PM.

2. Briarwood Presbyterian Church

You can bring your whole crew to these family-friendly candlelight services at 5PM and 7PM. Plus, they’ll have a night service at 11PM with candles and communion.

3. Brookwood Baptist Church

If you’re looking for afternoon or evening service options, Brookwood Baptist Church has you covered. They’ll be having two candlelight services in their sanctuary on Christmas Eve.

4. Covenant Presbyterian Church

Celebrate the season at one of Covenant Presbyterian Church’s services. If you’re bringing your kids along, they will have childcare provided during the 11AM and 4:30PM services.

5. Edgewood Presbyterian Church

All are invited to join the Christmas Eve service at this welcoming church. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch the service online.

6. First Presbyterian Church

You’ll want to bring your family and friends to this peaceful candlelight service. There will also be communion during this time.

7. First United Methodist Church

Celebrate Christmas at this inviting church with your loved ones. There are two evening services—one at 4PM in the lobby and another candlelight service at 6PM in the sanctuary.

8. Grace Fellowship Church

Looking for a simple yet meaningful service? For an evening of songs, readings and candle lighting, celebrate Christmas Eve with Grace Fellowship Church. Plus, they’ll have childcare for kids ages three and under.

9. Highlands United Methodist Church

At 5PM join Highlands for a candlelight service with a choir and communion. Plus, you can stop by for a family-oriented service at 2PM or a Christmas choral concert at 4:30PM.

10. Independent Presbyterian Church

For a service of Nine Lessons & Carols, which includes candlelight, music and readings, head to this church in Highland Park. Plus, they’ll have a nativity service at Noon on Christmas Eve to share the Christmas story and songs by a children’s choir.

    11. Shades Mountain Baptist Church

    Head to Shades Mountain Baptist Church for a time of nostalgia, fun and family. There will be candlelight services and Christmas festivities before and after in the lobby. If you have kids ages three and under, there will be childcare during the service at 3PM.

    12. The Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills

    Bring your whole family to one of these candlelight services. With services on both Friday and Saturday, your family is bound to find a time to celebrate Christmas together.
