Santos Coffee is on a roll. Less than a month after opening/announcing their Homewood and Gardendale locations, the team announced another shop opening. Say hello to Santos Mountain Brook! The new location takes the place of the iconic Starbucks corner in Mountain Brook Village.

All of their blends are hand-selected from roasters around the world and when brewed, make a delicious cup of coffee. Plus, check out their pastry selection while you’re there.

2. Jambo Grill | Hoover

Jambo Grill

A new addition to the Birmingham community, Jambo Grill, is open now. Serving up African and Caribbean classics like jerk chicken, Foo Food and Samosa, this spot is already a crowd-pleaser. They also serve American foods like burgers and wings, so there’s something there for everyone.

According to the Birmingham Business Journal, cocktails will also be hitting the menu soon. Who’s ready to grub? I know we are!

3. Rickshaw Bham | Everywhere!

Rickshaw makes its debut at the Barons game. (Rickshaw Bham)

Chris Joe’s story starts right here in The Magic City. From a young age, he was washing dishes in one of Birmingham’s most legendary Chinese restaurants, Joy Young. His great grandfather opened the restaurant in the 1920s after immigrating from Canton, China. The restaurant fed Bham locals until the 1990s. Now that it’s Chris’ turn in the spotlight, Rickshaw is bringing Asian-inspired street food to Birmingham this summer and will offer the city a new take on Asian cuisine.

Menu items will rotate but will include selections such as:

  • Bahn Mi sandwiches with your choice of pork belly, lemongrass chicken or tofu
  • Szechuan cumin lamb burger with furikake fries
  • 8-piece Korean fried chicken nuggets with miso-buttermilk ranch and daikon radish pickles

Plant-based items are also on the menu as well. He and his wife/business partner, Heather, can’t wait to serve the city they love.
