Birmingham-Southern College’s (BSC) various facilities will be home to five of The World Games 2022 competitions as athletes from all over the world call their residence halls home throughout the competition. Keep reading to see what games you can catch at BSC.
Ju-Jitsu, Karate and Wushu all held in Bill Battle Coliseum π₯
With a seating capacity of 1,600, Birmingham-Southern Collegeβs cornerstone of athletics, Bill Battle Coliseum, with host three Martial Arts events in The World Games 2022: Ju-Jitsu, Karate and Wushu.
- Ju-Jitsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat and self-defense.
- Karate is a Japanese martial art that features punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open-hand techniques.
- Wushu is the collective term for the martial art practices that originated and developed in China.Β

Fistball at Goldfarb Field at Berylson Soccer Park π
BSCβs soccer facility has served as the host field for numerous conference and regional soccer tournaments, including NAIA Menβs Soccer National Championships and many Conference Championships. With a seating capacity of 1,000, the spacious grassy area offers the ideal location for The World Games 2022 Fistball competition.
- Fistball is an outdoor team sport with many similarities to volleyball.

The entire campus will be home to Orienteering π
With a campus thatβs 192 acres, including a lake and an urban environmental park, Birmingham-Southern College Campus will be the setting for Sprint Orienteering at The World Games 2022.
- Orienteering is a sport that combines racing with navigation.
- It is a timed race in which participants find their way to various checkpoints with the aid of a map and compass…we can’t wait to watch this one.

Athlete’s Village
BSC residence halls will serve as an Athletes’ Village for The World Games 2022, housing up to 980 athletes, coaches and officials.
The college is looking forward to hosting athletes as well as fans as they watch and participate in these iconic events.
