In her 37-year career in real estate, Beth Hardwick has seen a lot of changes. Sheโs seen housing markets go up and down and seen new technologies make the home-buying process easier for agents and their clients. However, the biggest change for Beth happened in 2013, when she joined forces with her daughter Rebecca to become one of Birminghamโs first mother & daughter real estate teams.
We spoke with Beth and Rebecca Hardwick to learn more!
About the Hardwicks

Originally from Birmingham, Beth Hardwick launched her career in real estate with Norville-Randolph in the 1980s. In 1996, Norville-Randolph merged with a relatively new real estate firm in BirminghamโLAH Real Estateโand Beth became a member of the LAH team.
โIโve been in real estate for 37 years, and I started long before Rebecca was born. I took a break from my career when Rebecca was in high school, but I leapt back into real estate when she went to college!โ

Over the years, Rebecca Hardwick has worked many different jobs in a wide variety of fields. In the 2010s, Rebecca left her then-home in Los Angeles to spend months volunteering with a non-profit in Uganda. After completing her contract with the non-profit, Rebecca returned to her hometown of Birmingham and worked in property management. Shortly thereafter, Beth convinced Rebecca to join her at LAH Real Estate.
โI wasnโt making a whole lot of money in property management, and Mom told me, โIf you want to start making real money, you should come sell real estate with me.โ I was a bit unsure if the two of us could work together successfully, but it has worked out better than we ever could have expected!โ

Whatโs it like working as a mother & daughter team?

Rebecca and Beth officially joined forces in 2013, and have become one of LAH Real Estateโs most successful teams. In fact, Rebecca was named LAH Real Estateโs Rising Star Realtor in 2013 and Beth was named Sales Associate of the Year in 2014. Each year, the Hardwicks have received both LAHโs Top Producer AND Ownerโs Awards.
Rebecca: โWe both love what we do and have a lot of fun working to find our clients the perfect home. Itโs not just a working relationship, we create long-lasting friendships with our clients. To us, thatโs special. Plus, our clients always get a quick response, because at least one of us is always hereโitโs very rare that weโre both out of town!โ
Beth: โRebecca is so intuitive and has a great mind for problem solving. Plus, sheโs so tech savvy! Thatโs why we have so many repeat clientsโwe work so well together.โ

Since they joined forces, Rebecca and Beth have been able to complement each otherโs strengths and weaknesses in the business.
Rebecca: โGetting into real estate on your own can can be quite a challenge, but getting into real estate with my momโwhoโs been in the business for years and has dozens of loyal clientsโhas been a huge help for me. With her help, Iโve been able to learn as we go, and now we both bring a lot of business to the table.โ
Beth: โI am definitely the old school real estate agentโmeaning I like to print things out on paper! With the way things have shifted digitally, itโs almost always more efficient to sign documents online. Back in the day, Iโd have to run all over town just to get an initial from a client. Now, it literally takes seconds. Rebecca is the tech wizard who can make all of that happen!โ
But the best part of their job? Getting to help their clients find the perfect home.
Rebecca: โAn experience that I had that I will never forget is when we were working with these clients for over 6 months. We had looked at soooo many properties until one day, we saw โthe one.โ I will never forget the look on our buyerโs face when she walked in the front door. She had stars in her eyes. We knew this was the one we had been looking for and neither one of us will ever forget that moment.โ
Beth: โWe just helped a young lady find THE condo she has been looking for for over a year. We donโt know how many realtors she tried working with, but I have never seen anyone get so excited! She is over the moon!โ
