We’re back this week with five new businesses you should definitely have your eye on. This week, we’re focusing on nationwide organizations and local services alike that are excited to share their Birmingham openings. Let’s cut right to the chase, shall we?
1. Ebony Arrington Dance Studio | Woodlawn

Ebony Arrington is no stranger to the world of dance. After managing studios and seeking talent from the east side of Birmingham over the years, Arrington is ready to let the world know of the talent that East Birmingham has to offer.
“What I found that’s great about Woodlawn is there are a lot of women businesses that are growing and popping up there. The households there aren’t the most lucrative, but talent is strong there.”
-Ebony Arrington, Owner, Ebony Arrington Dance (as quoted in the Birmingham Business Journal)
This new location is right inside of the historic Woodrow Hall, built in 1914. We’re excited to see her new studio train up the next generation of local talent.

2. STRIVE – Birmingham

STRIVE is a nationwide organization that works to combat the unemployment problem by training workers that are driven to succeed. Through programs, classes and developmental training, they are about to help Birmingham’s workforce thrive.
Classes are scheduled to begin Winter 2023 in Birmingham. They chose our city because of the employment inequality that the world, but particularly the South, faces. They are on a mission to help Black Alabamians with their inaugural season serving 125 students.
3. Moss Rock Pharmacy | Hoover

Hoover—a locally-owned pharmacy is open now. Owners Alex Sturdivant and Clay Nolen are most excited to serve the growing Moss Rock community and Hoover as a whole.
Every pharmacy needs more than medicine, of course. Moss Rock also has snacks, cold drinks and friendly faces for you to get to know.
Make sure you swing by and meet your new neighborhood spot today.
