June is the month to honor Pride in Birmingham. We’ve gathered some exciting things to do this month with friends, so keep reading for the details.

1. 2022 Pride Kick-Off & Awards Reception

Central Alabama Pride is hosting a cocktail party to kick off Pride with local LGBTQ+ leaders. Get your tickets today—the price includes two drinks and hors d’ oeuvres. Let the pride-ification of summer begin!

2. Alyssa Edwards at The Lyric

Cause she’s what? Sickening. Your fave drag star, Alyssa Edwards is back in Birmingham and she is unstoppable. Alyssa is coming to The Lyric to slay the house down in her tour “Life, Love & Lashes-Memoirs of a Queen.”

3. Anastarzia Anaquway at Al’s on Seventh

Pride is just getting started at Al’s on Seventh with a show by Canadian Rupaul drag star, Anastarzia Anaquway. Come find out how Starzy is a Star.

4. BAO Pride Bingo

Hosted by Birmingham AIDS Outreach (BAO), Pride Bingo is a time for you and your friends to help raise funds that support the invaluable programs at BAO. This event is outdoors, so bring all the people you know.

BTW,  Miss Central Alabama Pride 2022, Sharon Cocx will be hosting the event.

5. BENT the musical

Can you measure a life in love? Encore Theatre and Gallery, a non-equity performance space, is putting on BENT or The Not ” Rent” Musical Revue. This show celebrates friends, loss and love through 90s rock gospel music. You won’t want to miss this.

6. Funky Food Truck Fest at Cahaba

Support AIDS Alabama—come out to the Funky Food Truck Festival Saturday, June 4. A portion of the food, drink + vendor proceeds will benefit programs at AIDS Alabama. 

7. Pride Skate Night

8. Loud and Proud at Saturn

9. Pride Drag Brunch with “PorkChop”

Join Sharon Cocx and Central Alabama Pride for brunch at Steel Gastropub. Check out these queens that will be there as well: Austin St. James, Harley Hatter, Olivia Giselle Tarajae and more.

10. Royal Pride Prom

The Magic City Acceptance Center is hosting a prom for ages 13-24. Everybody is dancing at this prom!

11. Bevy pre-parade Pride party

This one is for the girlies, the gays and the nonbinary pals! Join the Bham Bevy as they host a pre-parade Pride party with Pride-themed drink and shot specials, a mocktail option, games and so much more.

12. Pride Parade

Of course, one of the best ways to celebrate pride in Birmingham would be attending the parade hosted by Central Alabama Pride. See all your fave LGBTQ+-run stores and allies recognize inclusion in Alabama.

13. Electra

On the day of the parade, head over to Electra in Lakeview for food trucks, all-night DJs, drink specials and more. They’ll be opening early, so there’s plenty of time to stop by.

14. Pridefest

This year’s Pridefest will be held at the historic Linn Park instead of Sloss Furnace. Celebrate Pride in Birmingham with performers DEV and Pepper Mashay for ultimate DFDSGDHFG. There will be food, vendors, entertainment and so much more.

15. Kinky Boots

Face the impossible by experiencing Kinky Boots, a musical with music by the legendary Cindi Lauper. This show follows the first steps of creating inclusive shoes for all.
