Conducted by the inspirational Carlos Izcaray, Mozart’s 40th Symphony will sweep you off your feet with quick string movements and dark sounds.

FUN FACT: Mozart’s 40th Symphony is one of the two numbered symphonies by him that are written in a minor key—G Minor.

2. Mozart’s 40th Symphony & Brahms’ First Piano Concerto—Masterworks 8

If you missed the coffee concert, you still have time to see Alabama Symphony Orchestra play Mozart’s 40th Symphony. Since this is a Masterworks, you’ll also get the chance to hear Steven Spooner’s performance of Brahms’ Piano Concerto, a virtuosic weaving of the piano and the Orchestra.

“Mozart’s 40th is one of his most incredible symphonies, a full display of his creative genius. While this work hovers and glides in the ether, Brahms’ monumental First Piano Concerto erupts from below in a volcanic fashion. It is a work of deep passion and musical poetry, and a true challenge for both soloist and accompanying ensemble.”
