UAB tops the list in U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools

Birmingham’s beloved university, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), appears to be a shining star in in the latest list from U.S. News & World Report. Its graduate and professional programs received several rankings in the publication’s 2023 Best Graduate Schools list.

UAB is home to many successful graduate and undergraduate programs, so it is no surprise that the university was ranked highly in the 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School list.

According to U.S. News, the list featured the top-rated graduate schools in several, popular fields that include:

  • Business
  • Law
  • Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Engineering
  • Education

The rankings in these six areas are based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. The magazine also ranks programs in the sciences, social sciences and humanities on a rotating basis—usually every three years.

  • No. 4 – Master’s Program (in nursing administration)
  • No. 26 – Medical Schools with the most graduates practicing in health professional shortage areas
  • No. 63 – Schools with the most graduates practicing in primary care
