What’s your menu item of choice—nuggets or a sandwich? No matter your answer, we can all agree that we’re thankful that they’re back and better than ever.
2. Saw’s BBQ | Hoover
Ever since we announced the news of Saw’s headed to Hoover, its been one of our most asked about openings—for good reason, of course. Well, we’re happy to report that this award-winning BBQ joint has officially opened up their doors in Riverchase Village.
They’ll be serving up a similar menu to the standard Saw’s Soul Kitchen, complete with their famous chicken sandwiches, white sauce and mouthwatering mac and cheese. Be sure to look for the iconic yellow pig on the side of the building as you drive by.
3. Wellness WorX | Hoover

4. H2O Foundation | Avondale
After serving the Birmingham community for 18 years, Help 2 Others (H2O for short) has been assisting the Birmingham community with water and sewer bills that they are struggling to pay. Finally, they are getting a physical building and we couldn’t be more excited for them.
“We are thrilled to open our doors to the community. We are committed to serving the Birmingham area, and this space will allow us to do so in an even greater capacity. After receiving $55k through the generous support of donors in 2021, we have great expectations for 2022. We believe this new location is a great start.”-Jamekia Bies, Executive Director, The H2O Foundation
Want to support? Their grand opening is taking place at their new location on March 15.
5. Clean Juice | Lane Parke
Lane Parke just announced the newest addition to Phase II—Clean Juice. If you’re not into juice, don’t sweat. They offer tasty creations such as the bowl you see here, sandwiches and avocado toast. This will be a great addition for the existing Clean Juice in Greystone that opened in early 2020.
This will be the perfect spot to grab a midday treat—we’re so excited to welcome them in summer of 2022.
6. Steinway and Sons | Mountain Brook
English Village just welcomed one of the world’s finest piano companies to the neighborhood. Steinway and Sons, a nationally recognized piano maker, has just opened their newest showroom and upscale Spirio Lounge to serve the Birmingham area.
For the past 11 years, Alabama Piano Gallery has served the area and has since then transitioned to a factory-authorized Steinway showroom in English Village.
“With our sister gallery Steinway Piano Gallery Nashville, we have a long history of Steinway sales and service in our region. Birmingham is a great market for us and an opportunity to bring the magic of Steinway to a wide area. We have a very large selection of pianos to unveil in our opening weeks, and we’re thrilled to welcome the greater Birmingham community to the gallery to browse our beautiful space, see our stunning pianos, and experience the incredible Spirio—a player piano like no other.”-Brandon Herrenbruck, Steinway Piano Gallery Birmingham and Steinway Piano Gallery Nashville, President and Owner

7. Perfect Note Express | Downtown
Owners of Perfect Note Restaurant, Tremayne & Karen Thompson, have just opened up their newest venture—Perfect Note Express—in the basement of Birmingham City Hall. This existing cafeteria space was once empty, but the Thompsons have transformed it into the perfect spot for city officials, downtown commuters and dwellers to grab a bite to eat in the middle of the day. Plus, it provides more stability for their employees at Perfect Note in Hoover, which is open 2-3 days per week.
We can’t wait to try it out! Be sure to look on their Instagram for more details about their delicious menu.
8. American Kolache
Former Auburn player and NFL star, Chad Slade, has officially announced a franchise of American Kolache that will be headed to Birmingham. It’s said that he fell in love with kolaches while playing for the Houston Texans and decided to bring them back to his home state of Alabama. Their most popular flavors are Sausage & Gravy, Philly Cheesesteak and Apple Pie.
While not much is known about this new location, it’s set to open this spring.
Bonus: Bottega Café is back open!
While we sometimes get caught up in Birmingham openings, it’s important to remember those who are reopening—including Bottega! This James Beard award-winning restaurant serves some of the best Italian creations in their dining room but the café has been shut, until now. They named a few of their current creations in an Instagram post, and safe to say—we’re impressed. Baked feta with spicy marinara & focaccia? Yes, please.
They currently don’t take reservations for the café, but it will remain open from 11AM-9PM Tuesday-Saturday.
That’s all we’ve got this week, Birmingham! Got some opening news? Send it my way at email@example.com.
