This existing cafeteria space was once empty, but the Thompsons have transformed it into the perfect spot for city officials, downtown commuters and dwellers to grab a bite to eat in the middle of the day. While we sometimes get caught up in Birmingham openings, it’s important to remember those who are reopening—including Bottega! This James Beard award-winning restaurant serves some of the best Italian creations in their dining room but the café has been shut, until now. They named a few of their current creations in an Instagram post, and safe to say—we’re impressed. Baked feta with spicy marinara & focaccia? Yes, please.

They currently don’t take reservations for the café, but it will remain open from 11AM-9PM Tuesday-Saturday.

That’s all we’ve got this week, Birmingham! Got some opening news? Send it my way at olivia@bhamnow.com.
