Greater Birmingham has its fair share of unique knick-knack shops. Today, we’re highlighting Downtown Bessemer’s Paisley Pig, LLC—a community favorite. Keep reading to find out what makes the boutique different, learn about upcoming events and get the details on their new name change to Borelli’s Emporium.
All you need to know about Paisley Pig in Bessemer
For those who may not know, Paisley Pig, LLC is Bessemer’s beloved antique and consignment shop. It originally opened in 2013, but it was later purchased by its current owner Roseanna Borelli. Once Borelli took over, her vision for the shop was to transform it into—what she calls—an Inspired Lifestyle Marketplace.
According to a recent Facebook video, Borelli said that she had a completely different vision from what the shop had previously been.
“I wanted it to be colorful, eclectic, charming, cozy and quirky, and I wanted the artisans to be all those things, too and I made that happen. It didn’t happen over night, but it did happen.”

Inside the shop, you can find a wide range of items including:
- Home decor
- Furniture
- Boutique clothing
- Vintage finds
- Apothecary
- Handmade jewelry
They also offer booth rentals starting at $45 a month and fun times as soon as you step through the door.
New name, who this?
Paisley Pig is trying new things this year including a brand new name. The antique gem will soon be known as Borelli’s Emporium. The shop announced the name change through a post on Instagram back in the beginning of January:
Why the name change? Here’s what the owner had to say in a Facebook video.
“The name didn’t really reflect what was inside the shop. It didn’t reflect the family atmosphere or the vibe you feel when you walk in… it’s the retail version of Cheers. That is the best way to describe the shop and I want the shop to have a name that reflects that.”

However, don’t let the new name confuse you. You’ll still be able to shop for unique items like before. The shop should undergo its new title in late April 2022. Be sure to catch their new name Launch Party on April 30 for a chance to shop awesome finds and enjoy the charming Paisley Pig staff.
