1. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema announced as anchor tenant at Powell Steam Plant, opening Fall 2023

Let’s all go to the movies! Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, an Austin, Texas based movie theatre, restaurant and bar experience is coming to Birmingham in Fall 2023. This exciting addition will be the anchor tenant at the historic Powell Steam Plant. The cinema, dubbed the “#1 theater in America” by Entertainment Weekly, will feature fresh food, over 32 craft beers and of course, the hottest new films.

2. Birmingham’s original baked potato and pizza eatery opens near UAB

Baked potatoes and pizza in the same place? Sign me up. Potatoe Potahtoz & The Perfec Pizza is now open at The Waites on 7th Avenue South. You’re gonna want to get into this. Potatoe Potahtoz serves up scrumptious loaded baked potatoes, customizable pizzas, wings, cheesecake and more—it’s basically comfort food heaven. Plus, they’ve got karaoke on Fridays!

3. Exclusive interview with Robert Simon about The Star + Southtown Court in Birmingham
