An atmosphere for creatives

Holt is a local fine artist who not only brings his creations to life on paper, but on skin as well. He has built multiple connections with his community through art and noticed that there are a lot of talented creatives on the west side of Birmingham. After this realization, Holt wanted to create a professional atmosphere for those artists.

He opened Pain Freakz Body-Art Studio in his hometown about four years ago to make that a reality.

“We called the it (the shop) Body-Art Studio because we did more that just tattoos. We are a team of creatives and didn’t want to be boxed in by the stereotypes of just being a tattoo shop.”

Holt told us that along the way he learned that there will be ups and down, but he should never give up and continue to push through. The body art shop is a place for all creatives in the community to come together so Holt finds it important to work hard with his business and brand, not only for himself but for his team and those who look up to him.

“My goal is continue to grow and inspire others. I want to create opportunities for others artists like me and teach them how to become successful while giving back to the city that shows us love.”

Holt also has his own clothing brand called STRAPPED BRAND. He took what he called “a leap of faith” and started his brand around the same time as his studio opened. STRAPPED BRAND features urban streetwear for men and women.
