CORE is an online credentialing program that covers real estate industry basics, as well as helpful business skills for all fields. Upon completion, you’re equipped to take on an entry-level job in real estate.

The program presents unparalleled opportunities and convenience. Just ask recent participant Ty’Asia Bonner, a Miles College Student who is now considering a career in real estate. And she’s in good company. When polling 45 of the participants from the first cohort, 95% found the real estate content extremely or very valuable.

One of our favorite parts? Although this innovative program started right here in Alabama by The Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE), it has quickly caught the attention and subsequent support from national real estate organizations and businesses.

Generous sponsorship = major scholarships 💰

The national founding partners include the CREW Network, IREM Foundation, NMHC and Marcus & Millichap. The Alabama-based businesses and organizations supporting the cause include Alabama Power Foundation and Graham & Co. And more announcements are coming soon in 2022!

The generous sponsorship means that the program is incredibly accessible. How accessible, you ask? Well, thanks to their financial commitment, the program is completely free for successful applicants (which equates to $2500 in scholarship funds per participant!).

“As the local CREW chapter and only chapter in the state, BirminghamCREW is proud to support the mission of the ACRE CORE Program and be on the forefront of this critical initiative. CREW Network is the leading provider of research on gender and diversity in commercial real estate. It is inspiring to see the Network not only raise awareness of the gender and diversity gaps in the industry, but also to take formidable action to make change. BirminghamCREW looks forward to championing CORE, connecting with the students, and doing our part in creating opportunities for networking, mentorship, internships, and careers in commercial real estate.”

Diversifying the real estate industry 🏘️

Through their program, the REimagined initiative has a goal of empowering 100,000 individuals from underrepresented groups about career opportunities within the real estate industry by 2032.

“We already have much confidence in ACRE’s ability to be successful at rallying the real estate community to action. Their leadership and university connections statewide will bring students; their real estate business connections will bring mentoring and connections leading to jobs for graduates of the program. Lastly, ACRE has created a self-imposed accountability for CORE that we see as a roadmap to success.”

—Libby Lassiter, President, Bayer Properties (CORE Champion Sponsor) and local CORE ambassador
