Blo Homewood is a place where everyday can be a good hair day

Blo Homewood is a locally-owned and operated beauty bar that is a part of the largest blow dry bar franchise in North America, Blo Blow Dry Bar. It is the first blow dry bar concept to open in the Homewood area and the owner, Afsheen Ali, shared why she brought the business to the Magic City.

“I am hair, makeup and beauty obsessed. I realized there was no place locally where women could go get their hair & makeup done for special events or during their every day busy lives. I wanted to be the first one to bring the concept of a Blow Dry Bar and include not just blow outs, but custom hair styling, makeup & waxing.”

Blo Homewood provides full-face makeup and blow out service with combinations that include:

• Signature blow outs
• Head massages + blow outs
• Deep conditioning with blow out
• Blow outs with dream coat

You can get all dolled up for those Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties—just grab your outfit and go. What makes Blo Homewood so great is that not only do they offer signature styles such as Executive Sweet (sleek and straight) and Holly Would (big, round curls), but you can get a custom style designed just for you.

Building a bridge with the community through beauty

Ali’s chair at Blo Homewood isn’t only for the client to get a service, but a spot for the customer to let their hair down and connect with their stylist. Ali told us how important customer service is to her as a businesswoman.

“Customer service is key and we want our customers to leave wanting to come back, promote our business and refer their friends. I’ve learned that being present and engaging in our community is important to create a network of opportunities and understand customer needs.”

With the Blo Blow Dry Bar franchise, Ali owns Birmingham territory where she intends to open additional locations—hopefully in 2022. She also plans to start offering tape-in extension services to her current location. Blo Homewood is open seven days a week to accommodate every girl and woman who wants to treat themselves on off days.
