Add these 6 upcoming runs in Birmingham to your New Year’s resolution

Bring in the New Year with these runs around the Magic City. We’ve gathered the upcoming runs you should attend. Let’s test your endurance, Birmingham!

1. The Reindeer Dash—December

Start your new year’s resolution a few weeks early at the Reindeer Dash. One of our fave runs in Birmingham is making running fun. How? They’re asking you to dress up as your fave holiday character!

2. Meadow Brooks Run

The Meadow Brook Run has one of the most beautiful courses. If you sign up for this run, you’ll get a fun Christmas holiday T-shirt, a gift bag and opportunities for prizes.

BONUS: On the last day of the year, submit the miles you’ve run to the Birmingham Track Club to see your progress. If you complete 1200 miles, then you can become a member which grants you access to BTC rewards—WOW.

3. MLK Day 5K Drum Run—January

One of the most anticipated upcoming runs would probably be the MLK Day 5K Drum Run. While running, you get to experience Birmingham metro area schools’ drumlines keep the beat as you make you way through the course.

FUN FACT: This year’s race would have been on the 93rd birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

4. Winter Warm Up

If you’re a fan of running and winter, then you should sign up for the Winter Warm Up. Come enjoy the scenes of downtown Birmingham while testing your endurance. You may want to pack a few hand warmers—it’ll be chilly.

5. BTC Adam’s Heart Runs

Race down the paved roads at the beautiful Oak Mountain State Park. This upcoming run isn’t a trail race, so it’ll be easy on her feet. If you register before January 14, then you get a free shirt!

6. Mercedes-Benz Marathon—Feburary

Almost every Birminghamian knows about the Mercedes-Benz run. No matter what level of running you’re at, you can sign up for this race. You choose to run—or walk—the Mercedes Marathon, half marathon, 5 person marathon relay or the 5K.

Run with Mercedes for a fun race party with live music, Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q and free beer. Race on!
