Looking for mouthwatering seafood in Birmingham? Look no further than The Crab Barrack. With favorites like seasonal Blue Crab, snow crab legs, mussels, lobster, shrimp and clams, The Crab Barrack has something for every seafood lover. Plus, each dish is served with corn, potatoes & sausage—Low Country boil never tasted so good!

Currently, The Crab Barrack operates three locations in the Greater Birmingham Area:

  • Roebuck — 9417 Parkway East, Birmingham AL 35215
  • Irondale — 7861 Crestwood Boulevard, Birmingham AL 35210
  • Midfield — 103 Bessemer Super Highway, Midfield AL 35228

According to a representative of The Crab Barrack in Irondale, the company is looking to open several new locations in the Birmingham area: one in Bessemer, one in Five Points West (both of which would be to-go only) and a sit-down restaurant in Five Points South. At this time, the opening date is not yet set in stone.

Located in the Former Brennan’s Irish Pub

To those familiar with Five Points South, The Crab Barrack’s upcoming location is a familiar—and bittersweet—sight. From 2018 to mid-2020, the building was home to Brennan’s Irish Pub, an Irish-themed restaurant & bar owned by Danny Winter. On any given night, Brennan’s was home to live music, sports watch parties, art shows and much more. Plus, their fish & chips were some of the best you could find this side of the “pond”!

Unfortunately, the restaurant & pub was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and ultimately closed their doors in July 2020.

Now, a new restaurant—with a different, yet just-as-delicious menu—will soon be opening their doors in Five Points South.
