About the show
The peaceful and prosperous kingdom of Arcadia has received a warning from an oracle that four prophecies will come to pass. When they do, Arcadia’s beloved “Beat” that protects all of its citizens will disappear.
This is a story of love, loss and progressive change. Follow along with the characters as they discover who they are and how their acceptance of their new selves brings about a whole new world.
“Head Over Heels is a classic romp in the woods that champions big, brave love without ever feeling preachy or unkind.”
Lusie Cuskey, Director, BSC
Why you should see it
This musical has a little something for everyone. If you’re a big classic Shakespeare fan, you’ll love the 16th-century pastoral poetry style in which many of the characters speak. A big fan of 80s music? This musical is full of the Go-Go’s most famous hits.
What’s a good musical without lots of laughs? Along the characters’ journey to self-discovery, the audience will witness hilarious hijinks in the woods, silly disguises and romantic mix-ups.
Head Over Heels is a show centered around the message that sometimes change is not only necessary but inevitable. The Director of the show, Lusie Cuskey sees this musical as a funny yet honest performance. It communicates that in times of hardship, such as the pandemic, it is important to be open to new ideas and updated ways of living.
“This show offers a timely reminder that the risk of listening to your community and trying something new can lead to major rewards, even if that process is intimidating.”
Lusie Cuskey, Director, BSC
An incredible cast
This show follows the journey of a kingdom that ends up creating a whole new kind of community together. Cuskey says you can really see that community within this cast, with students from freshman to graduating seniors coming together as a family.
“A spirit of joy is central to this musical and I think this cast captures that beautifully; each and every cast member is coming to rehearsal ready to play hard and support each other.”
Lusie Cuskey, Director, BSC
