1. Carnival Haunted Car Wash
3i Car Wash in Fultondale is hosting its first Carnival Haunted House. For $25 per vehicle, experience the chills and thrills of a haunted house while getting your car washed. There’s no limit to riders per vehicle so load up all the kids and give them a fright. The next dates for the experience are October 29th and 30th from 7 PM to 11 PM. Tickets are limited so get yours asap.
2. 4th Annual Halloween Bar Crawl
Party like you might not live to see tomorrow at the 4th Annual Halloween Bar Crawl Friday, October 30th. Start the night off at Steel Gastropub and work your way around the bars such as Mojo Pub, TrimTab Brewing and Carrigan’s Beer Garden—all cover fees waived. Your ticket purchase includes a costume contest with a grand prize of $1,000, two free drinks or shots, drink specials, a professional photographer, an after-party and access to the official crawl map.
3. Rocky Horror Masquerade Ball
On Saturday, October 30th, the Rocky Horror Masquerade Ball returns to Sloss Furnaces after 28 years. DJ Tony Rodio will be on the ones and twos while you enjoy what’s called Birmingham’s best costume contest and cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. After the show, stick around for the It’s a Time Warp Dance Party with tunes by DJ A Flock of Geno. You may even win a weekend in NYC to see Kacey Musgraves at Madison Square Garden.
4. Matt Mathews Booty Bash
Looking to do a little shopping on Halloween weekend? Then visit Matt Mathew’s, Booty Bash Friday, October 29th. For $8 you can spend the evening at Matt Mathews studio snacking, drinking and shopping. For one night, Matt Mathews is offering 30% off in-store purchases. Don’t forget to dress to the nines for the costume contest. The winner receives a free session with the Matt Mathews team!
5. Sunday Series Halloween Costume Party
On Halloween day, hang out with the Sunday Series Day Party crew at TJ Tower from 3 PM to 8 PM. Don’t hesitate on buying tickets—sections and tables sell out FAST. Expect music from Gina Tollese, door prizes, giveaways, drink specials and coolest of all—a fog machine. A grand prize goes to the best costume picked by the crowd so come in a killer (get it?) outfit.
6. Hoots and Howls at the Birmingham Zoo
On October 30th and 31st, take the little ones to the Birmingham Zoo for Hoots and Howls. In addition to a perfect day of hanging with the animals, kids can trick or treat around the zoo, ride the Haunted Red Diamond Express Train and spin on the Protective Life Corporation Cobweb Carousel.
7. Fright Night at The Fennec
The Fennec is throwing their first Halloween party—Fright Night at The Fennec Friday, October 29th. The party includes spooky specialty spirits (cocktails), a costume contest with cash prizes and a photo booth to capture all the fun and frights. You can find live music playing all night courtesy of the Tommy Crowder Band and DJ John Cubelic.
8. Pizitz Food Hall Halloween Party
Personally, my favorite parties are free ones so The Pizitz After Dark party sounds amazing. Our favorite lunch spot gets spooky this Saturday, October 30th from 8 PM to midnight with DJs Gina Tollese and Giani Martin, scary good Hocus Pocus Margaritas, tarot readings and LED circus performers the Luminarts.
9. Nightmare on 22nd Street
You probably abandoned trick or treating years ago but it’s time to reawaken your inner child. Head to Nightmare on 22nd Street Saturday, October 30th at Iron City for adulting trick or treating with the best treat of all—shots! Go to the mezzanine for specialty shots using Iron City’s tokens. Additionally, there’ll be a photo booth, cash costume contest with multiple winners and tunes from DJ Mark AD.
