I hope you’re ready for more murals because we are back. It’s time to go experience the best art around our city. This is part three of our ultimate guide to Birmingham’s murals. Check out part 1 and part 2 first, if you missed them.
1. Know Your History Mural—@movetk
This mural depicts four Birmingham icons—Fred Shuttlesworth, a civil rights activist; Sun Ra, an iconic jazz musician; Angela Davis, an activist; and Spider Martin, a photojournalist.
- Location: Between 4th Ave & 5th Ave on 41st S
2. One City Mural—@marcusfetch
This mural represents unity, and although we’re all different, we are one city.
- Location: The corner of 16th St. and 3rd Ave S
3. Birmingham Color Wall— @marcusfetch
Another Marcus Fetch creation, this mural idea began with Marcus, but dozens of others in the community came together to add to it. You can find the Birmingham Color Wall and its most recent add ons on 1st Avenue.
4. Woodlawn Mural— @blankspacebham
This mural located in Woodlawn displays bright colors and musical instruments.
- Location: 6 55th Place near First Avenue South
5. With Every Fall, Comes Spring Mural— @marcusfetch and @seanmgilder
This is a tree with leaves made of handprints from the community. It shows the change of leaves from fall to spring.
6. BHM Collaborative Mural— @bhm_artist_collective
The mural is a collaborative effort between Fitz Hand Painted Signs, Blank Space Bham, BHM Artist Collective, and more, along with REV Birmingham. The goal of the mural was to provide a message of encouragement to Birmingham’s essential workers during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
7. Alabama Ballet Mural— @trelili
This iconic mural shows a lady riding her bike with a polka-dot dress and sunflowers.

8. Fancy’s on 5th Mural—@redpathcreative
This mural of Fancy the Elephant can be found in the heart of Avondale.
- Location: 400 41st St
9. It’s the Right Time Legacy Mural #1 —@blankspacebham
This is the first of four murals that will be a part of the “It’s the Right Time” legacy mural project in partnership with the World Games and Hibbett.

10. It’s Nice to Have You in Birmingham mural—@mcmcbhm
Head to Trim Tab for a drink and catch this giant blue mural pained across the top of the building.

11. Mayawell Bar Rabbit Mural—@brother_andy
This Rabbit mural can be found on the side of Mayawell Bar. Enjoy one of Mayawell’s delicious margaritas, and take a look at the wall art.

12. World Games 2021 Mural—@marcusfetch
Here’s another mural in honor of the World Games coming to Birmingham. This one was painted by well-known local artist, Marcus Fetch.
13. Ecoscape Phoenix Mural—@mammothmurals
A Phoenix appears to be bursting into smoke as its feathers fly behind it on this colorful mural.

14. Fancy the Elephant—@bbonardd
Miss Fancy the Elephant can be seen on the side of Avondale Brewing Company. She is the icon of the company.

15. Awesome to Have You in Avondale Mural— @roblikespie & @platypi.io
A well-known mural in Avondale, this artl welcomes you to the area with a bright green and white color palette.
