Prepare for autographs and photo ops, Birmingham. The Magic City Witches’ Ball is coming up on Saturday, October 23, and we’ve just discovered some horrifyingly awesome news. Actor Butch Patrick, best known for his role as Eddie Munster in the 60s TV show The Munsters, will be at the event. But that’s not all. Read on for details.

The Magic City Witches’ Ball revealed the news this week via an Instagram post, and I have to say, it’s pretty exciting.

Thanks to a love of Nick at Nite instilled in me by my mom, I know way more than I probably should about the show. Since the theme song is totally stuck in my head, I’m going to need you to join me by taking a listen here

Who are The Munsters?

The Munsters were a Transylvanian-American Family portrayed in The TV show, The Munsters, who lived at 1313 Mockingbird Lane in the fictional city of Mockingbird Heights. And, well, they weren’t your typical family—though they surely thought they were. I supposed they could have been, if you consider a family of benign monsters to be typical.

The show ran from 1964-1966 with Butch Patrick who played wolfish son Eddie Munster.

There’s more…

Good, I’m glad you’re still here, because there’s more to know, and it’s this: the Munster Koach will also be at the event.

Yes, that Munster Koach.

For those unfamiliar, it’s the Drag-U-La coffin-based dragster used as the family car in the TV series.

While the original hot-rod resides at famed TV and movie custom car builder George Barris’ Bam’s Kustoms Museums in North Hollywood, California, the replica is just as creepily cool as it was way back when. Its blood-red interior, black pearl paint and, most important, its hearse, can back me up.

While you can’t ride in the Munster Koach (darn), it does make for the ultimate photo op, so be sure to be Instagram-fabulous.
