Birmingham’s favorite fireworks show, the annual Thunder on the Mountain at Vulcan Park is breathtaking to watch. This year’s event will also celebrate Birmingham’s 150th birthday, so it’s a two-for-one party! Find a spot within viewing distance of Red Mountain (personally, I park at a gas station in Homewood) to see the show, and tune into any Birmingham iHeartRadio station to listen.

6. Enjoy America’s favorite pastime

Celebrate this Fourth of July with America’s favorite pastime: baseball. Catch the Birmingham Barons facing off against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Regions Field on July 4. With fireworks, classic ballpark food and, of course, a great game, you’re guaranteed a good time

7. Hit the trails
