Unsure of who and what The Modern Green Book is all about? Let me fill you in.

The Modern Green Book (TheMGB) is a free Black business and nonprofit database and publication whose goal is to support, celebrate and uplift Black businesses. It strives to continue the legacy of the original Negro Motorist Green Book—a resource created in 1936 by US Postal Service Worker Victo Hugo Green that was given to Black communities to help them travel with ease, safety and comfort.

But TheMGB is much more than a database. According to TheMGB, there are more than 2M Black-owned businesses in the US, many of which go without comparable access to capital that majority owned businesses have. TheMGB is helping bridge this gap by providing grants, programming and experiences for entrepreneurs and their communities.
